Hey Guys
Here is an update on the production of this DVD. I have just finished transcribing the first two tapes for BRMSC 1&2 which should come out in September. The transcriptions will be incl. as PDF on the dvd as extra material. There is no xtra footage from the actual concert but there will be xtra footage of Buddy. I hope this helps.

Thanks Zapkinson!!
And welcome to the board by the way. I haven't seen your posts before.
There's a Buddy DVD out now, actually 2 I own that has more Buddy than you can stuff in a potato sack.
As is/was already posted, the BRM vids were life changing for me. But I DID buy it because if Vince. I knew there was going to be a nuclear style meltdown between him and the Weckmiester. But I'd have to respectfully disagree about which drummer the band liked more. If I'm not mistaken, different band members were loping their heads to the beat to all the drummers. Especially in the "trades" area's.
Cool to hear it's coming out on DVD with transcriptions!!

Wasn't there a separate tape available of some rehearsal footage with DW, Vince, and Gadd? They should include that stuff. Can't wait 'til comes out though. Great stuff.

I've watched that clip more than 100 times. And everytime I see it lately, I see Gadd as the Winner - so musical and so strong statements that you can't avoid paying attention to it.
I think the reason why people enjoyed Vinnie and Weckls stuff more at that time is because they've a more refreshing style compared to the well-established Gadd'ism.
The famous highlight of the trades are Vinnies's wich are showed on the HOD website. But it's inevitable to see, that Vinnie and Weckle are peeing in their pants, playing next to Gadd.

Put me in the Vinnie camp for the sheer superhuman display that he summoned. The single stroke left hand / foot stuff. The rip your head off snare rolls. The off the wall china groove thing at the end. Unbelievable
I love what Dave started out with compositionally speaking, and execution was spot on Weckl perfect, but it seemed to me that he was repeating himself as things went on.
Gadd is an incredible player, and I hold him in the highest regard, but Vinnie was like a well tuned Ferrari that night. It seemed like Steve was having trouble keeping up.

Thanks much. And you?re absolutely right, tape two sure is amazing.
Those three playing together is like seeing Superman, Batman and Spiderman perform feats of strength, speed and agility in a circus somewhere.
I never had tape one. Saw bits and pieces in various music stores but never bought it.
I made the mistake of loaning my tape two to a friend who had a psychotic girlfriend. She made a habit of throwing his stuff out into the street when they argued. My tape fell victim to her wrath. That crumb never replaced it either.
I?m stoked about it coming out on DVD though.
Thanks again for the welcome.
